A few weeks ago, I went back to Death Valley with my friends. One of my favorite places to visit and to shoot in is —-Bad Water Basin. This place reminds me that—not all endings have to be ugly, some of them actually turn out to be unique and extraordinary. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by white ground which sorta looks like snow but it’s pretty much dried up salt from the evaporated water, which once was a lake. Here are some of the pictures that I took with my favorite photographer, who became my boyfriend that weekend. Haha. I was so excited for this trip that I actually made three outfits, which I’ll be sharing the other two outfits soon. For this look, I used a black embroidery floral lace to make a see through maxi dress with bell sleeves and a two piece set. As Coachella is coming around the corner, I felt the need to make some festival inspired looks. This dress is very light and perfect for a hot, sunny day in the desert. And to top it all of, I made a floral crown to finish the look. What do you guys think? Are you excited for Coachella?

Happy Tuesday Babes! Anyone else counting down the days to Coachella Weekend 2? Here’s another Coachella Inspired Outfit that I made recently. I made a two piece set with fringes and a black lace kimono to complete the Bohemian look. This photo shoot took place in Sunken City where broken foundations of houses, abandoned streetcar tracks, buckled sidewalks, and empty streets became a popular hiking spot. It is actually currently closed to the public so I actually took a leap of courage and jumped a fence in order to get here… Eeeeekkk… Thanks to Jason for giving me an extra boost and shooting this outfit with me! The abandoned place is literally the definition of a beautiful disaster. It’s filled with broken down graffiti walls, wild flowers and random palm trees over looking the ocean. I might’ve felt like I was going to fall a couple of times and it was scary as I have the fear of heights and the fear of falling… yet, I’m still glad that I did it and had an incredible experience. This place reminds me of all the times in my life that I’ve felt broken yet I still go on anyways despite of the feelings of defeat, brokenness and hardships.
Hope this place reminds you to keep going despite what you’re currently going through in your life because the last time I checked, broken crayons still color! 😉
See you guys at Coachella this weekend!
XOXO,
Joy
